BMW S 1000 R

The BMW S 1000 R is basically a naked version of the S 1000 RR but even less expensive than you would have thought it to be. Overall, BMW hasn’t priced their models to be that expensive. They’re similarly priced to the Japanese models in each category.

What I like about this bike is the fact that you get high performance in a simple good looking machine meant for riding streets instead of tracks. Still, it’s very at home when it does get onto a track.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX- 14R

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX- 14R was introduced for the first time about 15 years ago. Yet it’s still one of my favourite larger sportbikes. So the styling on this bike is very outdated, yes. But it’s a winner on the drag strips and we are fortunate enough to still have them in production today.

But that doesn’t mean everything about it is outdated. It gets 3-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) and some other onboard electronics that are up to date. And I forgot to mention that it has a 1,441cc engine that is loaded with power.

Suzuki Katana

The Suzuki Katana is a revival of its old legacy that started in 1982 but it’s built around the workings of the GSX-S1000. It’s a retro/ heritage bike even though it doesn’t seem all that obvious to the newer generation of riders who never knew the previous models.

You’ll easily be able to spot one with its iconic square headlight and very unique front-end styling. Yet, the power plant looks somewhat familiar and boosts 147 horsepower. It’s not often that a manufacturer’s heritage model is brought into production with such a reasonable price tag.

Yamaha MT-10

The Yamaha MT-10 is a beast of a naked bike that many of the younger motorcyclists have found to be something worth drooling over. Partly thanks to the way the headlights brings some personality to it. Plus the air intakes that look somewhat similar to that of the VMAX.

It’s understandable that it might not be to everyone’s liking due to the robotic appearances (at least, that’s what I see in it). If that’s the case, the 998cc engine might be able to persuade you with 160 horsepower and 82 ft-lb of torque.

Final words

You might have chosen differently from what I chose as we all like different riding styles and some features are more important to us than others. This is why I added a whole list of every motorcycle you could possibly buy in this price category.

I always try to keep my articles interesting and informative. And I’m always thankful when they are shared on social media platforms or Pinterest.
